Learners read their independent novels.
I looked through everyone's annotations and noted that many learners were finding it long and cumbersome. I emphasized the importance of practising annotating as a skill to reading more closely.
We worked on ways to take learner's annotations and make notes in preparation for a literary essay, to engage in the writing process. Learners used the rest of the period to continue annotating texts and making notes.
